This movie really had me thinking about the treatment of veterans when they return to civilian life. While the movie was exaggerated, it highlighted the lack of help given to soldiers who are dealing with PTSD. I’d even say it was ahead of its time since I feel PTSD has only recently become more apparent in the military.

The references to John Rambo’s lost comrades after returning from the field is heart-rending and the way he’s treated by a small-town police force was hard to watch. The look on his face, that incomprehensibility as to why he would be chided for protecting his country is mirrored on your own.

The movie is filled with action, drama and Syl’s pulsating muscles. It is a lot of fun to watch Rambo navigating unknown lands with ease, pulling off very MacGyver-like stunts and traps.
